For decades, the United States of America has been the leading voice across the world for the advancement of medical research.
That role & the hopes of millions of Americans whose lives depend upon life-saving medical research are now under threat.
The National Institue of Health, Center of Disease Control and U.S. Food and Drug Administration spend tens of billions of dollars a year to fight pediatric leukemia, cure Alzheimer's, and create a sense of possibility for those living with rare diseases across the country.
Those funds are being slashed as waste. But for millions of Americans, they are a lifeline.
This project offers a glimmer of our humanity. Research funds, to us, are no bureaucratic abstraction.
To us, research is life.
We are here.
The "We are here." campaign invites patients, caregivers, family members, and loved ones of patients to submit a photo of their hand and a very brief, anonymous survey.
The goal of this project is to create a library of our humanity to be used to advocate for medical research and care. If you or your loved one has a medical diagnosis that requires research to give you hope, join us.
We invite you to upload a photo of your hand and answer a few brief questions. Let's stand and be seen, together.
